The low profile keyboard market asked for it, and now they are here!
The first, purpose-built from the ground up, silent low profile keyboard switches are finally available!

Lowprokb is proud to announce the new Ambients line of silent choc switches, which will transform your rig into an office-friendly tool, or a late-night warrior's weapon. Designed in partnership with Kailh engineers, the Ambients line of switches will work on any keyboard that is Choc V1 compatible. Yes you read that right, both the keycap interface and the PCB footprint remain unchanged from earlier Choc V1 switches, so your existing keyboard can use these new switches.

Note: Used switches are not refundable. If you are unsure if you will like a particular switch, please purchase a single 10 pack to test prior to buying the full amount. Please see our refund policy for more details.

SUNRISE SWITCH UPDATE: (Jan 2025) - Looks like I will not get engineers time until after Chinese New Year (~end of Feb). I will make it my mission to get this solved for a late spring release. Fingers crossed. (Summer 2024) - There have been delays beyond our control. The first samples sent to us, did not meet our expectations, so further revisions have been ordered. This will likely push the availability date to the fall. We are moving as fast as we can, but the issue is the availability of Kailh engineers... they seem to be quite busy.

The Ambients are based on the original Kailh Choc V1 switch, but are a completely new design, having all their parts redesigned to accommodate the new components required to quieten the typical switch noise. Silicone bumpers have been strategically placed within the new design to buffer both the down and the up stroke of a keypress, all while not creating a mushy feeling while typing.

So quiet!

These twilights made a huge difference in volume on my Dirtywave M8, coming from the default Choc browns. Plus they feel really great too! Also great: the keycaps... LDSAs except for the red ones in the picture, which are MBK low-profiles with a spacer under each.

Amazingly quiet. Pairs well with the other anbient silent for stronger fingers. They feel a bit mushy if you’re coming from anything more clicky but have a softer bottom out than typical linear.

Amazingly quiet. A little mushy compared to a clicky switch of course, but if you want silent these are great.

Truly a night and day difference.

Replaced the default browns on my Voyager with a mixture of twilights & nocturnals. While I like a clicky keyboard, I wasn't looking forward to using it on business trips to the office. The ambients, combined with ZSA's shhocs, make for a practically silent keyboard.

Definitely looking forward to heavier switches in the line for my home-row and thumb switches. Will be a day 1 purchase when they're available.

Exactly what I was looking for!

I've been playing around with various switches for my ZSA Voyager and stumbled upon these due to a Reddit post I found. I was previously using the Kailh Choc Reds, and I thought those were pretty quiet until one of my coworkers commented about "hearing you tear up that keyboard when you get going." Even though the comment wasn't intended as a complaint (we were talking about my "strange" keyboard at the time), it made me realize that they're not as quiet as I thought they were, so I started looking and found these.

Shipping was fast, and I got them installed this morning and I am blown away. These are probably my favorite switches so far! I do prefer tactile switches and switches with slightly heavier activation, so I'll likely buy those when they become available. Either way, thrilled with these! Such an incredible product, thank you and congratulations to you all! I'd love it if we could buy one-offs as well... I actually need 52 for the Voyager, so I have two of the original Kailh Reds on two of my least-used keys, which works fine.
